Aspiring Novelist's Pledge
I pledge allegiance to the task of writing a best selling novel, and to the public for whom it's written, one statement, at a time, enthralling readers, with excitement and pleasure for all.
My pledge is to continue towards my goals in small, realistic portions. And my pledge is to be of as much support as I can to others in the blogging community, to published writers and to aspiring writers. Keep the dream alive and the passion, the magic of the written word shall be your driving force along with this positive environment.
Those are most excellent pledges, Gary. They are attainable and well-intended. And we in the blogging community benefit daily from you fulfilling your pledges.
Fantastic pledge! Revising can be tougher than writing for most folks. Personally, I find whichever I'm doing at the time to be the most difficult though. LOL
I pledge allegiance to just -finishing- my novel...then I'll go from there =)
ReplyDeleteThat first step is the most important one!
DeleteWell, I like yours. Hrm, let's see:
ReplyDeleteI pledge allegiance to my computer chair, office and computer, wherein I will sit, focus, write, create, all without shirking my other duties.
Shannon at The Warrior Muse
Not bad! I like that.
DeleteI pledge to finish a novel worth reading, to write from the heart, not from the head, and never to give up on my dream.
ReplyDeleteExcellent pledge!
DeleteI pledge to keep going, no matter the rejections. Keep writing, keep striving, keep growing.
ReplyDeletePerseverance is crucial!
DeleteI pledge to do what I can to keep my third book from sucking so that it might be as successful as the first two and please the fans.
ReplyDeleteI think you found the recipe for success, Alex. ;-)
DeleteI Pledge my wooden tables. For the antiques, I use Old English Oil. :o)
ReplyDeleteFunny! I needed the grin.
DeleteI need more coffee before I can make such pledges. But I'm cheering yours!
ReplyDeleteCheers gratefully received. Now, go get some coffee.
DeleteI pledge I'll keep laughing at myself so I never take me too seriously and ruin the bright side of life.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you've got the focus on what's important, Al!
DeleteThat's a pretty ambitious pledge. It's certainly a good beginning.
ReplyDeleteAmbitious and not for the faint of heart, I fear.
DeleteI pledge to never publish something I wouldn't be willing to buy and read myself. Great pledge Jeff.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can so agree with that!
DeleteI pledge to keep writing without letting rejection dampen my spirits.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very important pledge, Rachna.
DeleteTo get my foot in the door this year!
ReplyDeleteAnd here's to hoping you succeed!
DeleteI pledge to finish what I start and revise and edit those stories afterwards, instead of letting them languish in a corner.
ReplyDeleteOoh, the languishing, stale tale. Stick to that pledge!
DeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteMy pledge is to continue towards my goals in small, realistic portions. And my pledge is to be of as much support as I can to others in the blogging community, to published writers and to aspiring writers. Keep the dream alive and the passion, the magic of the written word shall be your driving force along with this positive environment.
Fulfilling writing, your way,
Gary

DeleteBest wishes!
Hehe - this is brilliant! I pledge to keep writing and do something each day that gets me a little closer to those dreams of publication. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd may those dreams of publication materialize soon!
DeleteNice pledge! For now, mine is to revise a novel as thoroughly as I can and then self-publish it. Regardless of whether it's a best-seller or not.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pledge! Revising can be tougher than writing for most folks. Personally, I find whichever I'm doing at the time to be the most difficult though. LOL
DeleteThat's such a great pledge! :)
ReplyDeleteMy pledge is to continue being dedicated to my artwork and never quit it, like I had temporarily done a few years back...
Howdy, Heather! If you're pledging to stay committed to your artwork then I'm 100% behind you on that!
