And of course, the moment I get comfortable with a "new" technology, it's either outdated or obsolete.  Such appears to be the case with the discontinuation of Google Reader come July 1. (And I'm still lamenting the loss of Google Calendar Sync for Outlook.)

After a bit of research, I found alternatives discussed (and linked) within the following articles:
Google Reader alternatives (ExtremeTech)
Google Reader is dying, but we have five worthy alternatives (c|net)

  1. I really like your Sunday feature Jeff, thanks for the links. I also have no idea how I'm going to organize things once Google reader is discontinued, so I'll be checking out your two suggested links. Thanks and happy Sunday.

  2. Found that same article at Extreme Tech. Going with Feedly. One touch imports all Google Reader files. Will post about Feedly tomorrow.

    1. Why does you finding that same article not surprise me? Feedly is the one I've been playing around with this weekend.

  3. For better or worse I wasn't dependent on Google Reader. I tend to use my dashboard and Wordpress to keep up with my blogs. I may have to look into a better way to organize my reading list.

    1. I used the dashboard until recently, but found a degree of organization necessary.

  4. And that's the reason why I always look for good laughter. Cheapest and most effective medicine one can get.
About Google Reader, my "Google Reader" will stay intact forever (MUA-HA-HA-HA). Silly little dragon thought the blogger list was Google Reader. Only couple days ago I noticed the small blue legend to the right that said "see it in Google Reader". So in the dragon world, nothing is lost. I think I'll use Tassin Organizer by Father Dragon Software. Dummy proof. :D

  6. I never got used to Google reader, which explains my scattered approach at getting around to blogs. But I am going to go follow those links right now and see if there is a better way to do it!

    1. No one method is best for everyone. In fact, the best method today may not be so tomorrow. I do like a degree of organization though, especially when I follow so many blogs.

    1. A lot of people are able to put together some great posts each week. It's a pleasure to link to them.

  8. So many great links! I really love the one about clarity in writing. There have been plenty of times writers referenced something that left me going WTF?! in their books. It's always hard for me to get back into a story after that. This is a great reminder for me to try avoiding that myself in my own work...

    1. And lack of clarity can come from everything from poorly worded sentences to plot line remnants that erroneously survived heavy revisions. So many things to keep in mind when writing. :::sigh:::
