Top Blog Posts of 2012 (I Love Countdowns)

You guys know by now that I'm a geek and that I love geeky things like statistics and countdowns.  When I was young, I would spend every New Year's Eve listening to the Top 100 songs for the year.  Although I don't do that so much these days, I do still love lists and rankings and the like.

So I thought it was only fitting that I provide a few lists pertaining to my blog for the year.  I chose to list the Top 10 blog posts by page views and by comment count, and also include a Top 10 of my favorite (self-written) posts and why they were my favorites.

Now, without the excessive rambling that I'm so prone to do, here's my recap of 2012's popular blog posts.

    1. Oh, the AlexFest post was a lot of fun! Do check out some of the others; there were lots of good ones. And I hope you and yours have a great New Year too!

  3. Crap, I do generate the comments, don't I?
I rarely look at pageviews. Comments matter more to me. I think overall my highest for pageviews is a IWSG post. Which to me is a good thing!

    1. Yes, you do generate a lot of comments, Alex. But you're so deserving of them!

  4. I would have to say that your #2 favorite is my #1, but I suppose since your #1 is about your wife...

  5. Most of these were before I met you...I'll have to peruse a few of them, since they're the "best of."

    Loved the baby picture one.

It's been a pleasure getting to know you and your talent this year. :o)

    1. Yeah, kiddie pictures tend to get comments; that's for sure. The pleasure has also been mine, Mike. You're a remarkable, positive influence, a true asset to our community.

  6. I love lists, too. I should look back over my posts. I have a feeling the top viewed and commented will all be from some blogfest Alex hosted or during the A to Z Challenge.

  7. Great post, Jeff! I finally got on Twitter after being hesitant for months! Now I'm trying to balance between commenting around the blogging community and meeting my bloggy friends on Facebook and Twitter! Now that I'm on the Big Three (blogging, FB, Twitter) social media websites...that's enough social media for me! I'm on it more than writing, but then again, it's so addictive! :)

    1. Giving back is the right thing to do on so many levels. I truly had a blast with that August is Awesome series. I was up late quite a few nights that month, but it was most definitely worth it. I'm seriously considering doing it again in 2013 too, providing my work schedule permits it.

  9. I'm not surprised that the top posts for comments involved Alex. And I love countdowns too, so this was a cool post.

  10. Fun! Even though I'm always keeping track of other things, like books read and words written, throughout the year, I've never thought of keeping track of posts like this. I might have to consider something like this for 2013!
