    1. Mom would be proud to hear me called a gentleman. (Lord knows she worked to make it happen.) I'd hold the door for you if you weren't so far away.

  6. Thanks for the links. I've been to Critique Circle already and it sounds interesting, but they don't allow fan fiction on their site and my story - the one I'm using to learn writing - is fan fiction. So I'll just have to wait until I begin writing my own story before I can participate there.

    1. There are a couple sites I've seen that specialize in fan fiction. I can dig up the links if you'd like.

    2. The link I found most quickly was http://www.fanfiction.net/. (I have a coworker who writes and posts there.)

I have a new Twitter follower with a fan fiction website, but I'm not sure whether there is a community there or not. That site is: http://howtowritefanfiction.com/blog/.

You may want to take a look at Book Country. http://bookcountry.com. I've read few negative remarks about the place regarding publishing, but some other folks enjoy the community experience.

There are other groups like Critters (http://critique.org/critters/) that you might also try. I don't know if they disallow fan fiction or not. It's just a critique group as far as I know.

There are a couple Yahoo groups that may work out for you too. One is Critical Writing. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/critical_writing/. There may be others too.

I'm almost certain there's another site dedicated to fan fiction, but I can't find it at the moment. If I do, I'll add it in another comment.
