I believe I'm going to make my June 12th deadline after all. Then I'll be able to catch up on everything else--like visiting your blogs and maybe writing a new post for my own! LOL

I'm rooting for you in your proofing marathon! Sometimes I misbehave during my proofing marathons by taking too many breaks- my eyes get sore from all that grammar checking. But I wish you lots of luck and may you get to the finish line on time.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest problem during those marathon grammar edits is that everything looks wrong (including spelling) after a few hours. Thanks for the wish of luck!
DeleteI feel your pain. I read 80,000 words in one day once - never again. I was seeing stars.
ReplyDeleteThere does come a point at which efficiency suffers too much. :)
DeleteKnock out that synopsis and meet your deadline, Jeff!
ReplyDeleteTwenty-two different ways? I believe it.
That was an interesting set of graphics. Synopsis is essentially ready now. Just needs some proofing.
DeleteWell you have a week to meet your deadline. Looks like you are getting there.
ReplyDeleteI have made some fantastic progress, but a lot of it is due to all the marvelous encouragement I've been receiving from some wonderful folks. ;-)
DeleteGood luck meeting your deadline. I don't understand, I keep making deadlines and then watching them blow right past me...ssswooshhh. I saw the youtube video that captured peoples reactions to the red wedding episode, it was pretty funny.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we can one day elicit that much emotion from our writing. That would be cool (if not dangerous!) Deadlines can be challenging, no doubt about it.
DeleteAll fingers crossed for your deadline ... those linguistic maps are fascinating. I reckon one of the UK would be wild!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Years ago, I would not have thought that there would be such a difference in dialects in the UK seeing as how there is considerably less geography there than the US. It's fascinating though.
DeleteCongrats on wrapping up your edits and ten-hour consistency check! The fact that you concentrated for so long on the latter is amazing. Good luck with the synopsis--those things can be such a pain to work on!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. After I completed the ten-hour marathon, I put in another 5-6 on the synopsis before resuming work on it today. It now has all the "meat" but needs a good polishing. They do present their own set of challenges.
DeleteYou did a proofing/editing marathon over ten hours?! :::bowing to you::: I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy! The last time I did that I couldn't remember my name for three days ...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making your deadline!
Thanks! Even having been through several major revisions and edits beforehand, I was still amazed at what I found and kept saying things, "How did I miss that?" ;-)
DeleteBest wishes on your marathon!!! Your rock!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your link for the maps that show how Americans speak differently - laughed trying to pronounce things differently.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one testing the sounds. ;-) And thanks for the best wishes!
DeleteTomorrow's the deadline. Hope you manage it.
ReplyDeleteEverything is printed except the synopsis! ::taking deep breaths::
DeleteGoooooo Jeff! I'm totally rooting for you. You will totally do it! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's going! It's going! The crowd goes wild! Jeff delivers it all the way to the post office! Listen to that crowd! LOL
DeleteI know that you will accomplish your goals! Go get 'em Jeff!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Many thanks, Julie. I will readily admit that I required a teensy bit of prodding--for which I'm grateful (at least at the moment) hehe.
DeleteGood luck with the synopsis! The cartoon was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThat cartoon hits too close to home! I qualify for several of those consolation prizes! And thanks!
