Sunday Surfing

Literary Consolation Prizes
I apologize for the lack of links. I wrapped up my edits this week and a ten-hour "consistency check" proofing marathon today. I'm in the midst of drafting the last of my synopsis and hope to have it finished before sundown.

I believe I'm going to make my June 12th deadline after all. Then I'll be able to catch up on everything else--like visiting your blogs and maybe writing a new post for my own! LOL

Remember, write wisely!

  1. I'm rooting for you in your proofing marathon! Sometimes I misbehave during my proofing marathons by taking too many breaks- my eyes get sore from all that grammar checking. But I wish you lots of luck and may you get to the finish line on time.

    1. My biggest problem during those marathon grammar edits is that everything looks wrong (including spelling) after a few hours. Thanks for the wish of luck!

  2. I feel your pain. I read 80,000 words in one day once - never again. I was seeing stars.

    1. I have made some fantastic progress, but a lot of it is due to all the marvelous encouragement I've been receiving from some wonderful folks. ;-)

  5. Good luck meeting your deadline. I don't understand, I keep making deadlines and then watching them blow right past me...ssswooshhh. I saw the youtube video that captured peoples reactions to the red wedding episode, it was pretty funny.

    1. Perhaps we can one day elicit that much emotion from our writing. That would be cool (if not dangerous!) Deadlines can be challenging, no doubt about it.

    1. Thanks! Years ago, I would not have thought that there would be such a difference in dialects in the UK seeing as how there is considerably less geography there than the US. It's fascinating though.

  7. Congrats on wrapping up your edits and ten-hour consistency check! The fact that you concentrated for so long on the latter is amazing. Good luck with the synopsis--those things can be such a pain to work on!

    1. Thanks, Heather. After I completed the ten-hour marathon, I put in another 5-6 on the synopsis before resuming work on it today. It now has all the "meat" but needs a good polishing. They do present their own set of challenges.

  8. You did a proofing/editing marathon over ten hours?! :::bowing to you::: I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy! The last time I did that I couldn't remember my name for three days ...

    Congrats on making your deadline!

    1. Thanks! Even having been through several major revisions and edits beforehand, I was still amazed at what I found and kept saying things, "How did I miss that?" ;-)
