Lessons Yoda Has Taught Me About Writing

Think you're a nerd? Prove it! 21 Jokes Only Nerds Will Understand I got about 16 or 17 on the first read. I'm nerdy with a capital N. Of course, being a science-loving computer programmer helps.

I added the Feedly and Bloglovin widgets this weekend. I'd be grateful if someone can verify for me that they work properly.

I have been (and plan to continue) using Feedly as my blog surfing chauffeur. I've spent a good bit of time getting things organized the way that works best for me. I still have some tweaking to go, but am thus far satisfied.

  1. I've been using both readers for a couple months and already imported all of the blogs I'm following or I'd test the buttons for you.

    1. I found another article today discussing even more readers. It compared thirteen, I think. I'll probably include the link next Sunday.

  2. I don't perfectly understand the problem with following. All the blogs I read appear in Blogger with no problem.

  9. Oh the reader adjustment-- we're all just so awkward with it all. I switched to Bloglovin and actually like it better than Google anyway. So there. Take that.

I didn't know Nook was done. Amazon is the tablet behemoth.

    1. I almost went with a Kindle, but the Galaxy Tab 2 won me over. It still integrates with Amazon.

    1. As did I. I had to explain the Oct 31 = Dec 25 to some folks on Facebook. Everyone laughs at the computer nerd until they need him. ;-)

  11. Wow, I only understood four of those jokes. Guess I'm not a nerd!

Absolutely loved the word opposites, though--I never realized how contradictory some definitions were for a single word before!

Also, that sucks about BN no longer making Nook tablets. I'm so relieved now that I opted to get a Kindle back in the day. I won't have to worry about transitioning to a different brand in the future!

    1. There is a degree of risk going with a device so tightly geared to any one outlet, be it Nook, iPad or Kindle. Benefits, risks and tradeoffs about regardless.

Just four? I thought you'd have been good for at least six. ;-)

  16. Hi Jeff,

All those links and yes, I will check some of them out. You know you are my favourite nerd!

I have found the "follow by email" function is working well. It informs me of your blog. Yep, even if it has taken me two days to actually get here. Should of used my computer. Sidenote, I wish folks who now have their blog redirected to Google+, might consider removing that application. It's becoming a mystery tour getting to a number of blog sites.

A good week to you and thanks, Jeff.

    Gary

    1. Glad to hear that I'm *someone's* favorite nerd! :)

I've often wondered whether anyone used the "Follow by email" option on my blog. I've never found a place within Blogger that tells me if anyone has used that method, so I'm glad to hear that it works.

I know what you mean about profiles going directly to Google+. Some folks will have their blog(s) listed in their "About" section, but by no means all. I trust mine still shows up as a Blogger profile.

Have a great night, Gary. I think you're five or so hours ahead of me. :)
